Cafe Fit-out | Cups and Wells
Filling the gaps
Cups and Wells came on board with plans to fit out and furnish a local cafe, but a few key
elements were missing.
- The project plans were incomplete
- Council approvals and essential services had not been factored in
- There were no allowances for completed sign off
- The client was looking at paying an upfront price for a turn-key product
These are not uncommon mistakes to make without proper project management.
After coming to an understanding of what Cups and Wells wanted to achieve, a full scope of the
project was performed to firm up contractor costings. From there the project was able to be rolled
out professionally and transparently by Anchor’s project management.
Helping Cups and Wells meet what looked like an impossible opening date illustrates the
importance of build-project partnerships. The right Project Manager brings significant benefits to
any major investment. Without it, a business can end up paying more to fill in gaps that were not
identified in those vital first stages.
Anthony and the team at Anchor Services were exceptional in assisting us with the
construction and fit-out for our cafe! Anchor managed every aspect of the project
professionally from beginning to end and all jobs were done in a timely manner. They
exceeded our expectations and ensured that all council requirements were met and plans
approved. Anthony came on site throughout the project to monitor the progress and
completion of the jobs. Without the help of Anchor, we certainly wouldn’t have been able to
meet our expected timeline as Anchor had the experience and expertise needed to execute
the works in the correct order to meet the deadlines. We are so thankful to have worked with
Anthony and the Anchor team and will no doubt be using them again in our future projects!
Once again, thank you Anchor!

Residential Renovation | Extension
Restoring a former beauty
Demolition vs renovation? The owners of a magnificent 1920’s Queenslander were determined to
keep the bones, the original frame, even though it would require an extensive renovation. With
hand-driven steel nails having stood the test of time, why demolish such a beauty? So where
possible, original VJ’s were kept and reused.
A massive transformation challenged Anchor’s project methodology. The property was lifted and
spun around to meet the requirements of a complete renovation. It was rewired and remodelled to
leverage an all-important aspect, and the kitchen became the focal point of the home as planned.
Now a place of great beauty, both owners and visitors alike are in awe of the craftsmanship and
functionality this home provides.
Unwavering in an emergency
On behalf of JLL for the ANZ account I would like to offer my sincere gratitude to you and your
team at Anchor Building Services, for your exceptional efforts during the recent cyclones we
experienced in QLD and NT.
Natural disasters can be a stressful and difficult time so it is imperative that we have contractors
that are reliable, dependable and trustworthy. Your team were professional and unwavering in
your support and the on-site assistance that Jamie received in Yeppoon/Rockhampton from
Reece and Ben was instrumental in having those ANZ branches re-open within days of the
cyclone passing through. It also enabled ANZ to provide washing machines, fridges and dryers for
their staff to use in very trying circumstances.
The works required to bring the affected ANZ branches in QLD/NT back to “normal” is still
ongoing; but your team are being very efficient at communicating all outstanding issues and
seeking direction from my team to get this work completed as quickly as possible.
Outstanding service, Tony. Thank you.

Giving the Tour a Fighting Chance
Hi Anthony,
Thank you for your amazing support of this year’s Tour de Chance.
I honestly can’t thank you enough for what you did for this year’s tour. As you may have been
aware at the time (through Pete), a few weeks out from the Tour we were in desperate need of a
big support van and were facing the prospect of having to make do with a small caddy to support
the entire event.
Your generous offer of support came at just the right time and in hindsight, was an absolute
lifesaver. Without your support, I really don’t think the ride would have been possible, so please
accept our heartfelt thanks for your support. Having your van with its large storage capacity was
exactly what we needed. I can’t explain how perfectly sized it was and it ended up performing one
of the most important jobs on Tour – Keeping the boys safe and carrying the essentials we
needed to get us home safely from Brisbane (including our food, water, spare bikes, spare parts,
etc).
The Tour itself was a wonderful success, and we owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone who
kindly supported our efforts. We raised around $350,000 in fundraising across the course of the
events and generated an audience of well over 1.5 million people through our media strategy,
most notably from TV segments on ABC 7:30 Report in NSW and QLD.
On behalf of everyone here at Fighting Chance, please accept my sincere and heartfelt thanks
for your support during this event.

Short notice. Difficult job. CBD location.
Anchor Building Services Qld has being doing works for Westpac and St George banks for over 9
years. With their dedicated staff and quality contractors their service is of an extremely high
standard.
Anchor Building Services Qld were asked to perform night works on one of the St George sites in
the central business district (Brisbane) on very short notice. This was an extremely difficult job
cutting and removing part of the awning and replacing the awning so that St George, Cnr. Queen
and Edward Sts could reopen next morning.
These works were handled in a professional and dedicated manner right down to organising the
Council permits on short notice.
I find every situation is handled with immediate response and professionalism. Anchor Building
Services Qld and their contractors throughout Australia have a commitment to total satisfaction for
their client, as this is their foremost focus.
I would recommend Anchor Building Services Qld for any works in your establishment.

Rising to the occasion
Anchor Building Services were an instrumental part of the collective efforts required during the
January 2011 floods. Anchors team of in-house staff and range of quality contractors provided
assistance to prepare and protect a range of sites from rising waters with sand bags, pumps,
emergency generators and labour to move equipment to higher ground.
Anchor was just as integral to the provision of services for the post flood works to get the sites
affected back to normal operations as quickly as possible. This included cleaning and sanitisation
works, building works, electrical works, painting and plastering. On every occasion Anchor
sourced what was needed and in extreme circumstances they always came through with the
goods.
Their efforts had a direct and positive effect on our owner, tenants and staff. Thanks again Tony
and the Anchor Team.
